Jothan Frakes
Jothan Frakes is a trusted brand, naming and digital assets expert who is well known in the industry of Domain Names. He serves as Vice-Chair, Technical Operations of the ICANN Registrar Stakeholder Group since June 2020.
Jothan also is co-chair of CPH TechOps and RrSG representative to the GNSO Standing Selection Committee (SSC) within ICANN. Jothan has worked in senior leadership woles with such leading companies as KPMG, Verisign, has founded, advised and has held a variety of senior executive roles with registries and registrars since first working with domains in 1991 when he left the music industry after a successful tour with top-40 artist Stevie "B".
Currently, he is owner/CEO of PLISK.COM, known for his enthusiasm for domain names and the branding/naming industry, his work on the Public Suffix List (PSL), and for being a co-founder of NamesCon as well as the MERGE digital asset conference. Jothan is a member of the director team on the handshake.org project and Jothan provided input to the strategy of ENS.Domains project within the Ethereum Foundation's efforts related to ICP-3 and IANA/ICANN compatibility.
